NEXT Lingerie - Phoebe [review]

Disclaimer: I was gifted this set however, I have not been paid for this review and all thoughts are my own.

Before I was kindly gifted this set I have to say I wasn't particularly aware of Next's lingerie offering. Other than a bodysuit I picked up on a whim during a sale a couple of years ago, this is the first set I've tried from them. I definitely hadn't imagined that they would become one of my favourite high street brands for accessible, well fitting everyday bras.

When it comes to the high street/most mainstream lingerie brands I'm used to not seeing sizes below a 32" band, and either settling with badly fitting styles or simply refusing to purchase in the first place. My previous experience led me to presume that Next would fall into this mould, and to my sheer surprise and joy, they didn't!

I was able to get the Phoebe Lightly Padded Lace Balcony Bra in Orche in my most worn size, 30D. The style itself comes in six other colours from an adorable pastel pink to deep forest green and traditional white and is available in sizes 30B - 38DD. The matching knickers are available in both thong and Brazilian styles and in sizes 6 - 18, I ended up choosing the thong in a size 8.

Next describes the Pheobe bra as 'lightly padded for a smooth silhouette, with a straight across lower cut cup for a natural lift.' Personally, I am a big fan of balcony style bras. They tend to suit my breast shape really well and give me a great natural shape, and this bra is no exception! It's proved to be a fantastic everyday option that has worked extremely well under everything I've worn it with. It's never pinched or moved around during the day, in fact, I mostly forget I'm even wearing it!

The matching thong is maybe even more comfortable than the bra is! I decided to try the thong in a size 8 as I've been a bit in between sizes recently. While the fit is good, I probably could have gotten away with a size 6 as there is a fair amount of stretch in the piece.

If the size range and how comfortable this set is wasn't enough, the whole set retails for only £21! The bra is currently £14 and both knicker options are £7 each. There are luxury sets more than four times the price of this one that I've been far less impressed with so this set is definitely an absolute bargain.

One of my favourite things about this set, beside the fantastic colour and the fit, is that the label of each piece features Coppafeel's logo and a reminder to check your boobs. I love that more brands are choosing to include messages like this in their lingerie, helping to educate women about breast cancer and how to best care for themselves!

Being gifted this set has shown me that maybe I'm too quick to judge some lingerie brands, and I really shouldn't because there are some hidden gems out there! It's safe to say that I will definitely be returning to Next soon, and I'm super excited to see what they're going to do in the future.
